Cleantech company bringing 130 new jobs to North Carolina

Trilliant, a cleantech company, has decided to move its global headquarters from California to North Carolina, the Triangle Business Journal reported.

The new headquarters will be located in Cary, which is located within North Carolina's Research Triangle. The move will create 130 new jobs. The company's headquarters was previously located in San Francisco.

Trillium provides smart grid software and communications platforms that "help utilities and energy providers around the world address modern energy challenges," according to the company's website.

"What we understand, after meeting with them a couple of times, is they are just growing really, really rapidly in the Bay Area," said Susan Sanford, executive director of the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster, the Triangle Business Journal reported.

Trilliant will join a business community that has seen significant growth in cleantech in recent years. The RTCC estimated that there are currently more than 350 cleantech companies that have set up shop in the Triangle, the source noted.

The average salary at Trilliant's new headquarters will be more than $105,348, according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the CaryCitizen reported. The average salary in the county is $53,783.

The jobs will be located at Trilliant's new headquarters in the Research Triangle.
