LinkedIn analyzed its member profiles and job openings data to determine the 10 best jobs in healthcare for 2017.
Many of the jobs that made the list were related to project management as opposed to those requiring medical skills.
To compile the ranking, the site considered the availability of jobs in certain fields as well as salary and year-over-year growth.
Pharmacy manager topped the list, with a median salary base of $137,000 and a career advancement score of 6 out of 10. Project manager and regulatory affairs manager rounded out the top three. The rest of the list included: hospitalist, financial analyst, regional sales director, pharmacist, product manager, program manager and regional director of operations.
Out of all sectors, healthcare generated the most jobs in 2016, according to Modern Healthcare, citing data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Total job gains over the year were 2.2 million, with 43,200 jobs added in December.
Healthcare spending rose 5.8 percent in 2015 from the year previous, fueled largely by increased hiring as a result of the Affordable Care Act, the source noted. However, some research shows that future changes to the ACA could lead to significant job losses.
