Scottsdale, Arizona, is the best city in the nation for jobs in 2017, according to a ranking released by WalletHub on Wednesday.
The online credit score provider analyzed economic and employment indicators such as median annual income and the availability of jobs for 150 cities to assemble its ranking.
Scottsdale topped the list, with a total score of 70.48, a "Job Market" ranking of 1 and a "Socioeconomic Environment" ranking of 2. In second place was Plano, Texas, with a total score of 64.91. Rounding out the top five were Orlando, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and San Francisco.
The site also determined that the top three cities with the most job opportunities were Orlando, Salt Lake City, and Atlanta. The top three cities for highest employment growth were Rancho Cucamonga, California, Ontario, California, and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Arizona and Texas have both seen a strong year for employment in 2016. In November, the rate of job creation in Texas outpaced the national rate, at 1.8 percent, adding 212,600 nonagricultural jobs in the 12 months to November, according to The San Marcos Corridor News.
Arizona was named the No. 10 state for attracting people moving from other states in 2016, The Arizona Republic reported. The top slot, however, went to South Dakota, replacing Oregon.
