MRINetwork Sponsors Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Philadelphia -- MRINetwork, one of the world’s largest search and recruitment organizations, is a major sponsor in the construction of a new home by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, for a family in Warwick, R.I.
Ken and Doreen Silva support a large family on Ken’s income as a sanitation truck driver. Doreen is a stay-at-home mom as well as a foster care and open adoption advocate. While raising their two biological children, the Silvas have opened their home to 13 foster children and have adopted three of them. They currently care for two foster children as well. All of the children have special needs, including two who have been diagnosed with varying forms of autism.
Last September, the Silva family learned that their children had high levels of lead in their system. The family then discovered high levels of lead throughout their home and around the house, but did not have the financial resources to remedy the problem. They were also told their foster children could possibly be removed from the home unless remedial action was taken.
After hearing their compelling story, Extreme Makeover notified the Silva family on February 18 that they had been chosen as the recipients of a brand new home.
“MRINetwork is very proud to be involved in this worthwhile endeavor,” said Michael Jalbert, president of MRINetwork. “As recruiters, we change lives by placing people in new jobs. This is another way in which we can improve lives and contribute to the community.”
The Silvas saw their new home for the first time on February 25. The show will air on ABC later this year.
