Recruiters in Asia Still Lack Career Development
8 April 2008 – A recent survey carried out in Asia by MRINetwork, one of the world’s leading executive search firms, has shown that some recruitment agencies are still falling behind when it comes to providing positive, effective career development for their recruiters. Over 100 active recruiters from Singapore, Malaysia, India, the Philippines, China and Hong Kong took part in the survey to find out whether their current employers were actively participating in their ongoing career development.
While 58% said they did receive some degree of training and career development in their current positions, only 1% said that their employer provided career development actively with a proactive approach and 41% of respondents were receiving no development whatsoever.
“Some commentators have said that the current shortage of good recruitment professionals is a direct result of the lack of training and career development offered by them”, said Michael Jalbert, President of MRINetwork. “At MRINetwork we use a unique training methodology, which starts with a junior AE after their first six weeks and then continues throughout their career with us”.
