Ace Hardware Corporation recently announced plans to open a new distribution center in Pennsylvania that will create over 200 jobs, WITF reported.
This expansion will add to the company's current network, which is comprised of more than 5,000 retail stores. The warehouse facility will be 874,000 square feet and is set to open at the beginning of next year, the source said. Hiring will start toward the end of this year.
"Today's announcement is great news for Lebanon County and highlights the benefits of Pennsylvania's strategic location," Gov. Tom Wolf said, according to WITF. "Pennsylvania's proximity and access to markets makes it a prime choice for these types of distribution centers."
In its press release, the company explained that this move is part of a broader restructuring initiative intended to strengthen its retail support network along the east coast and aid in Ace's continued growth.
"Ace Hardware intends to grow even more aggressively over the next several years. As a result, we are augmenting our distribution capabilities to be faster, nimbler and stronger than ever before," stated Lori Bossmann, Executive Vice President, Supply Chain, Inventory Replenishment and Retail Support, at Ace Hardware Corporation.
