Life-sciences sector is hiring in some parts of the country

Many people find that the life-sciences industry is one of the most lucrative fields for those with the necessary skills. In some cases, there will be career fairs held to help both job-seekers and employers find one another and increase staff levels.

In one recent example, HireLifeScience.com announced that it would be holding a career fair at a convention center in New Jersey. There will be many leading brands in attendance, including Daiichi Sankyo, Bausch+Lomb, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Warner Chilcott, GlaxoSmithKline, P.R.A. International, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, Stryker, Johnson & Johnson, Boehringer-Ingelheim and Daiichi Sankyo.

According to those organizing the event, the gathering will help increase employment in the industry.

“We have put together one of the strongest Life Science exhibitor lists to hit the Tri-State in many years. It is a very rare occasion for so many HR representatives from the Life Science industries to be together in one room with one thing in mind, hiring," said Rob Masterson, president of HireLifeScience.com.

Other scientific fields have seen hiring opportunities increase over the past few years. One of the fastest-growing and well-compensated is the smart-grid sector. A recent survey conducted by SmartGridCareers.com of 184 smart-grid hiring managers found that the average salary for an experienced worker in the industry is $136,000.
