Vitamin supplier to open new distribution center in Virginia

A provider of nutritional supplements and vitamins will bring 60 new jobs to Chesterfield County, Virginia over the next three years, according to WTVR News.

Emerson Ecologics is planning to open a distribution center in Chesterfield County. The project will initially create 35 positions, then expand to 60 over the coming years.

The company, which distributes supplements to doctor's offices, said it chose the Virginia site because of its "business-friendly" climate. Emerson Ecologics CEO Andy Greenawalt said the new facility will result in a 50 percent increase in their overall distribution capacity, the media outlet reports.

"We're delighted that Emerson Ecologics has chosen Chesterfield County as the site of their new distribution facility, and pleased that the venture will create exciting new employment opportunities for residents from throughout the region," Chesterfield County Administrator James J. L. Stegmaier said.

Meanwhile, manufacturer APP Pharmaceuticals also announced an expansion in its operations. The company revealed it will invest $38 million into its Grand Island, New York facility, which specializes in developing injectable products.
