Dr. Richard Phalunas is the President/CEO of The Brooke Group, and serves as the Principal on all recruitment partnerships seeking academic investigators/leadership in academic cancer research.

Before founding The Brooke Group, his more than 40 years of professional experience at public and private universities and colleges included leadership and management positions in President’s Offices, Dean’s Offices, and a National Research Center.
He has been Director of a National Clearinghouse, as well as a National Training Center, each supported by US Congressional appropriations. As the Managing Director of a University National Research Center Division, he was the Principal or Co-Principal Investigator of more than $50 million of Federal project grants and/or cooperative agreements which funded 3 national centers and 6 demonstration projects addressing scientific, financial, and governance issues related to national, state, and local governments, Tribal Nations, and private business entities serving small communities all across the US.
He holds a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with a minor in Business Administration; his university research and adjunct teaching roles span three academic disciplines.
